This policy explains how Simply Skilled Ltd (“we”, “us”) collects and uses personal information when you visit our website, contact us, use our free tools or take our courses.
Who we are
Simply Skilled Ltd is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. We are a company registered in England and Wales, company number 15835262, and registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), registration reference ZB905676.

What we collect
- Contact and booking details: your name, email address, organisation, phone number and anything you tell us when you get in touch or book a session.
- Learner account details: your name, email address, login details, the courses you enrol on, your progress, quiz results and certificates.
- Free tool responses: your answers to the Skills Check and DSE workstation self-assessment, and any results we send you.
- Technical information: information your browser sends, such as IP address and browser type, and the cookies described below.
How we use it, and our lawful basis
- To reply to enquiries and run consultations. Lawful basis: legitimate interests, or steps before entering a contract.
- To provide courses and learner accounts, track progress and issue certificates. Lawful basis: contract, or legitimate interests where your employer has arranged your training.
- To provide results and recommendations from our free tools. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
- To send occasional updates about our services, only where you have agreed. Lawful basis: consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- To keep the website secure and working properly. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
- To meet legal and accounting obligations. Lawful basis: legal obligation.
If your employer has enrolled you on a course, they may receive reports on your progress and completion as part of their training records.
Who we share it with
We never sell your information. We share it only with trusted suppliers who help us run our services, under contracts that protect your data:
- IONOS, our website hosting provider
- Coassemble, our course authoring and delivery platform
- Microsoft, for email and Microsoft 365 business services, including account and course notifications
Some suppliers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries and booking details: up to 2 years after our last contact.
- Learner records and certificates: for as long as your account is active, plus up to 6 years, or as agreed with your employer.
- Business and financial records: 6 years, as required by law.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you logged in, remember your language and keep the site secure. We don’t use advertising cookies. If we add analytics in future, we’ll ask for your consent first.
Your rights
You have the right to access your personal information, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, ask for a copy to move elsewhere, and withdraw consent at any time. To use any of these rights, email info@simplyskilled.co.uk. We’ll respond within one month.
Complaints
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please contact us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
