Our story
it started with a tracking problem.
Simply Skilled is a veteran-owned digital learning business. We give stretched L&D teams practical support, and we make learning platforms work for the organisations that rely on them.
How it began
i built a course for thousands. then couldn’t prove who’d finished it.
That moment shaped everything Simply Skilled does. An anti-money laundering course, rolled out to thousands of colleagues across the country, and no way of knowing who had actually completed it.
So I learned the other half of learning: the platforms, the tracking and the reporting that prove training worked. I’ve spent more than 25 years in HR and L&D since, much of it in learning technology, supporting hundreds of organisations and thousands of learners across local government, charities, care, retail, hospitality, pharma, telecoms, oil and gas, and plenty in between.
It all started at 16 in the Army, where training isn’t box-ticking. It’s how people stay safe and get the job done. That’s still the standard we work to.

giving talent a start
My nephew is neurodivergent and was struggling to find work. His hyperfocus made him brilliant at building courses in Coassemble, so we built them together, in a real work setting with coaching along the way. He has since moved into employment, helped by the employability skills he gained here. We want to create more opportunities like his.

backing stretched L&D teams
L&D teams are often small, busy and asked to do more with less. I love working alongside them: adding capacity, building content and making their LMS work harder, so they can focus on the people they support.
